Armenian regulator bans sea salt import from Italy

Armenia’s state food safety agency has barred 408 kilograms of Italian sea salt from entering the country’s territory because of nonconformity with safety norms, the agency’s press office reported on Wednesday.

YEREVAN, July 7. /ARKA/. Armenia’s state food safety agency has barred 408 kilograms of Italian sea salt from entering the country’s territory because of nonconformity with safety norms, the agency’s press office reported on Wednesday.
It has become clear after necessary customs control procedures that the salt, imported by Italia’s Ancado LLC, is not iodinated and it means the product failed to meet the requirements the Armenian government issued on December 31, 2000.
Taking into account the mentioned, the regulator prohibited the imports and proposed the economic entity to utilize, destroy or re-export the salt. --0----
