Armenian tax officer caught red-handed

An employee of Armenian Tax Inspectorate was caught red-handed when receiving a bribe, the National Security Service (NSS) said today, without identifying the tax officer’s name.

YEREVAN, October 17. /ARKA/. An employee of Armenian Tax Inspectorate was caught red-handed when receiving a bribe, the National Security Service (NSS) said today, without identifying the tax officer’s name.
"The detained man, a senior officer of the tax inspectorate of Mashtots administrative district of Yerevan, according to preliminary investigation, periodically demanded and received different amounts of money from businesses for their protection and creation of favorable conditions for their shady activities, - the NSS said.
A criminal case under article "bribe-taking in large amounts" has been started. If found guilty by court the tax officer may be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.-0-
