Banks and SMEs discuss prospects for cooperation (VIDEO)
YEREVAN, April 4. /ARKA/. The Union of Armenian Banks, in collaboration with the German-Armenian Fund, brought together representatives of the financial sector to conduct an important dialogue between banks and SMEs, summarize the past year, and plan for future work.
Acba Bank, which has always paid special attention to SMEs, offers not only financing but also special business training and knowledge exchange programs. These programs help entrepreneurs make more accurate financial calculations, develop specific business strategies, and create success stories for their businesses, the bank's press service reported.
"We are in constant communication with SME representatives through various platforms, exchanging opinions on the work done and current needs. We continuously update, change, and present new offerings to the market, which contributes to the development of both SMEs and regions. The development of small and medium-sized businesses is crucial for Acba Bank, as they are considered the backbone of the economy and contribute to the overall growth of our country," said Suren Oganesyan, Head of the Branch Management Department at Acba Bank.
"The total amount of loans issued by banks stands at 6.4 trillion drams, of which 3.1 trillion drams were loans issued to businesses, and half of that amount was allocated to small and medium-sized businesses. This is a good indicator, but the higher it goes and the more small and medium enterprises there are, the more beneficial it will be for all parties," said Daniel Azatyan, Chairman of the Union of Banks of Armenia.
"I think that the mission of banks is not only to provide financial resources. Banks must collaborate with businesses to take them to the next level, making them more competitive," said Martin Galstyan, Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia.
In the banking sector, Acba was the first to launch the Acba Business Club in 2023, uniting representatives of the business community on a single platform. Entrepreneurs can join the Acba Business Club through the website sme.acba.am, where they can also learn about upcoming events and special offers for partners.
