Bill places restrictions on provision of gambling licenses
YEREVAN, November 17. /ARKA/. Armenian parliament has adopted today in the second and final reading a set of amendments to the Law on Gambling, Internet Games and Casinos, which provide for certain restrictions on granting licenses to large investors.

Deputy finance minister Karen Tamazyan said while presenting the bill that  under the current law an investor is granted a license to run a gambling game if  he/she makes an investment to the tune of  40 billion drams or more.

"The proposed amendments specify that the license will be granted only to investors who make the mentioned amount of investments in one facility, rather than in several," Tamazyan said.

He said also that regardless of the number of co-investors one license will be granted only. Under the current law a casino can be built only in Meghri, Jermuk, Sevan and Tsakhkadzor. ($ 1 - 487.42 drams). -0-
