The criminal prosecution against the director of Spayka company David Ghazaryan was stopped, but the preliminary investigation into tax evasion case continues, Armenia’s State Revenue Committee said today.

YEREVAN, April 5. /ARKA/. The criminal prosecution against the director of Spayka company David Ghazaryan was stopped, but the preliminary investigation into tax evasion case continues, Armenia’s State Revenue Committee said today.
Earlier today SRC had asked a local court to allow the arrest of David Ghazaryan on charges of evading taxes and customs duties.
The SRC said earlier that Spayka LLC avoided payment of customs duties and taxes in the amount of 7.036 billion drams (the equivalent of more than $14.4 million).
Spayka founded in 2001, has been engaged in the export and sale of fruits and vegetables to Russia, CIS and European countries since 2007. The company also manufactures packages, including boxes and pallets of foamed polystyrene.
The company also develops intensive gardens. On March 26, Spayka commissioned a $15 million worth cheese factory. The opening ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. -0-
