YEREVAN, August 20. /ARKA/. From January to July 2025, Armenia's exports to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) reached $1.8 billion, reflecting an increase of $42 million or 2.4% compared to the same timeframe in 2024, as stated by Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan.

"It is significant to note that the export of flowers and decorative plants surged by 88.7%, equating to $17.2 million," he mentioned in a post on Facebook.

The minister emphasized that this data is crucial, as certain pseudo-experts in the media and on social networks are misleading the public by portraying the decline in gold re-exports from Russia to Armenia, and subsequently to the United Arab Emirates, compared to the previous year as an 'economic collapse.'

"In reality, this (gold re-export) not only resulted in negligible benefits for Armenia and its citizens but also posed risks to the state and the business climate," Papoyan remarked.

As per Armstat, Armenia's foreign trade turnover with the EEU for the first half of this year was $1.4 billion, marking a decrease of 5.2% compared to the same period last year.-0-
