In June 2020, prices for foodstuffs and soft drinks in Armenia increased by 2% compared to June 2019, and decreased by 3.5% compared to May 2020, the National Statistical Committee said.

Food prices up 2% in Armenia in June 2020

YEREVAN, July 6. /ARKA/. In June 2020, prices for foodstuffs and soft drinks in Armenia increased by 2% compared to June 2019, and decreased by 3.5% compared to May 2020, the National Statistical Committee said. It said prices of vegetables fell by 4.6% and 22% respectively.

Also, prices of dairy products, cheese and eggs fell by 3.5% and 1.4% respectively. Prices of eggs fell by 19.2% and 5.1%, respectively. Prices of cooking oils and fats declined by 0.3% and 1.2% respectively.

Also, prices of sugar declined by 5.3% and 0.9% respectively. In 2020 June, fruits rose in price by 14.2% from 2029 June and by 4.1% from 2020 May.

Prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased, respectively, by 12% and 8.8%, and - by 0.3% and 0.4% when compared to May 2020.

Prices for non-food products in June 2020 decreased by 0.2% compared to June last year, and decreased by 0.5% compared to May 2020.

In general, consumer prices in Armenia in June 2020 increased by 1.7% compared to June 2019, and decreased by 1.4% from May 2020. --0--
