Gazprom-Armenia not to seek natural gas price hike this year
YEREVAN, July 4. /ARKA/. Armenia’s national natural gas distribution company Gazprom - Armenia will not seek a rise in the price of gas until the end of this year, according to Garegin Baghramyan, the  head of Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC).

In late December 2018, Russia's Gazprom raised the price of natural gas it ships to Armenia across Georgia from $150 per one thousand cubic meters to $165. The new price has been effective from January 1, 2019.  But Gazprom’s Armenian subsidiary - Gazprom Armenia - sells it to Armenian households at almost $300.

Speaking to reporters today, Baghramyan said no agreement was reached on the price of Russian gas for Armenia for next year.

He also denied media speculation that the final price of Russian gas for Armenia may be determined during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Armenia, scheduled for October 1. He said gas talks are being held at several levels, and the issue is in no way connected to Putin’s visit.

Gazprom Armenia CJSC, a 100% subsidiary of the Russian Gazprom, supplies Russian natural gas to Armenia. The company also is engaged in transportation, storage, distribution and sale of gas, reconstruction and expansion of  gas transmission systems and underground gas storage facilities. -0-
