YEREVAN, September 8. / ARKA /. Salaries of Gazprom Armenia employees were brought into line with the standards of the parent company, Armenia’s national Russian-owned natural gas network, Gazprom Armenia CEO Vardan Harutyunyan said in an interview with Golos Armenii (Voice of Armenia) Russian-language semi-weekly.
"Our employees, as citizens of the Republic of Armenia, pay all the taxes to Armenia’s state budget, but at the same time they enjoy all the privileges that are provided for the employees of Russian Gazprom, including their salaries", said Harutyunyan.
According to him, the full acquisition of the company by Gazprom has led to significant, exclusively positive changes.
In 2014 February Russia’s Gazprom formally completed the purchase of the 20 percent stake in Armenia’s natural gas distribution company ArmRosGazprom (ARG) held by the Armenian government becoming the full owner of the utility. After the deal ARG was renamed Gazprom Armenia.
‘Gazprom has its own standards of salaries and salaries of our employees are now brought into line with these standards. The additional funds are provided by Gazprom,’ Harutyunyan said.
According to Harutyunyan, Gazprom allocates substantial funds for various bonuses and additional social payments and this money in turn is circulated in Armenia’s consumer market.
He said there are also social programs financed by Gazprom. For example, beginning from January 1, 2016 Gazprom Armenia employees who will retire, will get additional pension provided by Gazprom Pension Fund.
Armenia’s national natural gas operator Gazprom Armenia is 100% owned by Russian Gazprom. It deals with transportation and storage of Russian gas to Armenia, its distribution and sale, as well as reconstruction and expansion of gas transmission system and underground gas storage facilities.-0- -
