YEREVAN, July 1. /ARKA/. The town of Glendale in California, USA that has a strong Armenian community will host the second Armenian Trade Show to feature a large array of products produced by companies in Armenia, Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and the U.S.
Gevorg Aghabalyan, general secretary of the Council for Promotion of International Business Relations, said the festival will be supported by the Glendale City Hall. He added that numerous applications for participation have already been received.
According to him, out of 60 pavilions at the festival 30 will have on display the products produced by companies from Armenia.
Preliminarily, the two-day show will be held in December to be followed by B2B meetings and a large-scale conference to present the participants' products.
"The meetings will be attended by representatives of major U.S. and Mexican retail chains, who will have the opportunity to meet and communicate with the Armenian producers on the spot," he noted.
Aghabalyan added that the festival will feature a large concert program with guest stars from Armenia.
For her part, Mariam Manukyan, head of the Council for the Promotion of International Business Relations, said companies from all sectors can participate, but they must have at least three years of operation in Armenia and prospects for expansion, based on future demand and resources.
"The program is designed not only for large exporters but also for small, medium and micro companies as they are more vulnerable and need the support which such events and festivals can provide," she said.
Manukyan said that currently 10 companies have agreements with the US-based Liva Elite Business Group Company to place information about themselves and their goods at the Armenian Trade Show website. They are the companies producing sweets, canned food, dried fruits and wine.
She said that the new website of Armenian Trade Show, which will be launched in September this year, will become a platform for retail and wholesale sales.
Manukyan added that the organizers of the event aim not only to establish prospects for economic development, but also to help preserve Armenian identity through the implementation of a multifaceted project that creates great opportunities to popularize and raise Armenia's profile. --0--
