Golden Place hotel in Tsakhkadzor to be auctioned

The Golden Palace hotel  in Tsaghkadzor will be auctioned on December 18, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Bagrat Badalyan said during a government meeting on Thursday.

YEREVAN, November 21. /ARKA/. The Golden Palace hotel  in Tsaghkadzor will be auctioned on December 18, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Bagrat Badalyan said during a government meeting on Thursday. The decision to auction the hotel was made by the government today.

Badalyan said the hotel is estimated to cost  7 billion 526 million drams  (about $15.8 million), while the land plot - 1.38 hectares- is estimated at 62 million 431 thousand  (about $130 thousand.)

He said if the hotel is not sold during the first auction, three more auctions will be announced, and each time the cost will be reduced by 5% compared to the previous auction. He said one of the conditions of the auction is that the premises continue to operate as a hotel. 

 Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan called in turn on all interested parties to take part in the auction. The hotel was previously owned by an ex chief of Armenia’s Customs Service  Armen Avetisyan, who  donated it to the government.

The hotel  and auxiliary buildings are  19.758 square meters. The land plot is 1.38 hectares. The hotel has 3,257 units of property worth 312 million drams.

Earlier, Chairman of the State Property Committee Narek Babayan said the hotel  was  estimated at $16.5 million and that the committee had received proposals to buy it at a higher price both from Armenia and from Armenians who live abroad. -0-
