The Armenian government has endorsed today a legislative initiative tabled by lawmakers from the Prosperous Armenia Party to double the size of insured individual deposits.

YEREVAN, March 19. / ARKA /. The Armenian government has endorsed today a legislative initiative tabled by lawmakers from the Prosperous Armenia Party to double the size of insured individual deposits.

Deputy finance minister Pavel Safaryan said the current maximum size of insured individual deposit in the national currency will grow from 4 million to 8 million drams, while the deposits in foreign currency will grow from the equivalent of 2 million drams to the equivalent of 4 million drams.

He said the government may later consider raising the sizes to 10 and 5 million drams respectively. ($1 – 479.03 drams).-0-
