Government establishes new company to boost diamond exports

YEREVAN, December 9. /ARKA/. The government of Armenia has approved today the establishment of diamond-cutting ARM-ALMAST CJSC, the press-service of the Ministry of Economy reported.

It said the new company will allow to increase the production and export of polished diamonds by $150mln annually in average, to raise the number of diamond-cutting companies to 20-25, which will employ as many as 5 thousand workers.

The goal of the newly established company is to form a consolidated demand of the Armenian companies for rough diamonds and meet it through joint purchase and sales to local manufacturers. -0-
