Government exempts Liqvor company from customs duties

The Armenian government on Wednesday decided to exempt Liqvor, a privately owned pharmaceutical producer, from the payment of customs duties after the company had invested 342 million drams into the purchase of equipment for implementation of a priority investment program and pledged to increase production, economy minister Karen Chshmarityan said at a cabinet session today.

YEREVAN, January 20. /ARKA/. The Armenian government on Wednesday decided to exempt Liqvor, a privately owned pharmaceutical producer, from the payment of customs duties after the company had invested 342 million drams into the purchase of equipment for implementation of a priority investment program and pledged to increase production, economy minister Karen Chshmarityan said at a cabinet session today.

According to the minister, the company plans to expand output to 642 million drams and export some 70-80% of the production. He added that the company was awarded Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certificate and therefore is allowed to export its products to EU countries and the United States.

Liquor, Armenia, was established in 1991 and became the first private enterprise in Armenia to produce medicines. Now it produces 60 types of infusion, injection, ophthalmic, hemostatic, ENT solutions and products and exports its products to almost all former Soviet republics. ($ 1 - 485.69 drams). -- 0--
