The government of Armenia is revising the procedure of compensating the damage caused by natural disasters and the total amount of damages caused this year will be presented in late September, Agriculture Minister Artur Khachatryan said at a press conference on Friday.

Damage caused to crops in Armenia amounted to 6 billion drams in 2018, down from 12 billion drams in 2016 and 33 billion drams in 2016
The minister added that earlier the government-provided compensations were directed to repayment of farmers land tax or water use debts, now the money will be handed to affected farmers in cash who will be free to use it at their own discretion. ($ 1 - 482.76 drams). --0--
