YEREVAN, August 29. /ARKA/. Armenian Economy Minister Tigran Khachatryan said today the government was dissatisfied with the macroeconomic situation in the country.
Speaking to reporters after a Cabinet session he said last year, investments in fixed assets amounted to only 17% of GDP. This figure is not enough to ensure long-term stable growth, he said. The minister said under the five-year government program this figure is to rise to 23% of GDP.
"All those projects that are currently being discussed by the government, the provided tax and customs benefits and those state support tools that are used in various sectors of the economy are all aimed precisely at achieving this target," Khachatryan said.
The government's GDP growth projection for 2019 is 4.9%. The inflation projection is 2.7%. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today that economic activity index in 2019 July grew by 8.1% compared to 2018 figure, industrial output grew by 16.1%, construction sector by 41%, commodity circulation by 9.1%, and services by 14.9%. The average wage increased by 8%, and exports - by 19.5%. -0-
