YEREVAN, August 9. /ARKA/. The government of Armenia at a meeting today decided to increase the limit of products imported by individuals, which are not subject to customs clearance.
The head of the State Revenue Committee David Ananyan said Armenia’s new Tax Code came into force in January 2018, as well as a decision of the Eurasian Economic Commission, which limit the number of products imported from third countries. He said this decision also notes that in the case of more stringent national standards, the Eurasian Economic Commission’s norms are in effect, which is the case with Armenia.
According to him, the current national limit of products of animal origin is 3 kg, which the government will to raise to 30 kg.
"The limit of live trees, plants, bulbs and plant roots is currently 5 pieces, but not more than 2 kg. We want to raise the limit to 15 pieces, which, however, should not exceed 50 kg. In the case of coffee, tea and spices, the limit is 5 kg, which we will raise to 15 kg,,’ he said.
According to Ananyan, by adopting this decision, the government only equates the national and Eurasian limits. -0-
