Government passes decision on regulation of state supervision of imports and exports of precious stones, precious metals

The Armenian government on Thursday passed a decision on the regulation of state supervision of imports of precious stones, precious metals, scrap and precious metal waste from third countries and their exports from Armenia to other countries.

YEREVAN, November 5. / ARKA /. The Armenian government on Thursday passed a decision on the regulation of state supervision of imports of precious stones, precious metals, scrap and precious metal waste from third countries and their exports from Armenia to other countries.
Economy minister Karen Chshmarityan said under the changes import and export of products of this category will be provided with acts of state supervision.
He said this decision stems frOm Armenia’s commitments to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and from the need to bring Armenian legislation into conformity with the requirements of the (EEU).
According to the National Statistical Service, export of precious and semi-precious stones, precious metals and products in the first 9 months of 2015 fell by 8.5 percent to USD153.7 million. Their imports slashed by 64.5 percent to USD82.1 million. -0-
