Haypost again opens subsidiary in the United States

YEREVAN, August 26. /ARKA/. Minister of High Technologies Industry Hakob Arshakyan, speaking Wednesday at a news conference, presented the activities of the national postal operator Haypost for the first half of 2020.
"The Haypost subsidiary has reopened in Delaware, which will stimulate trade with the United States. It is also planned to open a subsidiary in China," he said.
The minister noted that negotiations are currently underway with the Russia’s Post Service.
"The result of the negotiations will be the introduction and development of new postal logistics services and the provision of postal transfers between countries at domestic rates, which will contribute to the growth of parcels and small cargo volumes," Arshakyan said.
He also said that a new system of money transfers between Armenia and Russia, Postransfer, is already operating.
"The system allows money transfers from Armenia to Russia and back from any post office. The commission payment is 1.2%. In Armenia, money transfers will be served in more than 800 post offices, in Russia - in more than 30,000. This means that money transfers through Haypost will become available even in the most remote settlements, "Arashkayan said.
The Armenian national postal operator Haypost CJSC (Armpost), after 14 years of trust management was transferred to the management of the ministry of high technologies industry of Armenia in April. Haypost was managed by HayPost Trust Management, owned by a large Argentine entrepreneur Eduardo Ernekian (the contract expired on February 15, 2020).
Agreement on transferring the Armenian company Haypost (Armpost) to the Dutch Haypost Trust Management B.V. was signed on November 30, 2006 in Yerevan for a period of 5 years with the right to prolong the agreement for the same period. On November 16, 2010, an agreement was signed with HayPost, in which it was proposed to change the form of management in HayPost in order to form a modern structure that meets international standards.
Haypost CJSC is the national operator of postal communication in Armenia. It provides postal, financial and retail trade services. Currently, the company has 900 post offices in all cities of Armenia and even in the most remote villages. -0-
