Head of Armenian SRC denies rumors about his imminent resignation
YEREVAN, October 16. /ARKA/. The head of Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) David Ananyan declined today rumors about his imminent resignation describing them as ridiculous.

A local daily "Zhamanak" (Time) claimed in its today’s issue that Ananyan would be asked by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to resign because of the disappearance of a large amount of money, collected as taxes and fines. According to the newspaper, the disappearance was reported to the prime minister, who it says will not be late in asking Ananyan to resign.

Speaking at a news conference Ananyan said he treated such claims with humor. He said during the latest meeting with Pashinyan to discuss a set of purely operational issues, the prime minister did not express dissatisfaction with his work. Ananyan said also that Pashinyan, like himself, learned  about the differences between them from the newspaper. Ananyan said there are no ways for collected taxes to disappear.

"The State Revenue Committee is engaged in tax administration and collects taxes, including those paid voluntarily by taxpayers, which are reported systematically to the public," said Ananyan.

Regarding the appointments of relatives of high-ranking officials to posts in the Committee, Ananyan said when choosing staff members they are guided in the first place, by the professionalism and skills of applicants, and not by their family ties. - 0—
