Head of company selling fruits in Armenia detained on charges of tax evasion

Armenian law-enforcement authorities have launched an investigation into a large tax evasion case that involves  a company founded by an Iranian citizen that imported tons of fruits and vegetables from Iran and sold them in Armenia without settlement documents or issued documents that did not correspond to reality.

YEREVAN, October 30. /ARKA/. Armenian law-enforcement authorities have launched an investigation into a large tax evasion case that involves a company founded by an Iranian citizen that imported 1,900 tons of fruits and vegetables from Iran and sold them in Armenia without settlement documents or issued documents that did not correspond to reality.

The State Revenue Committee said the director of the company has been detained. According to preliminary calculations, the state suffered damage on a particularly large scale.

The director of the company confessed, provided tax calculations and restored part of the damage, and pledged to restore the remaining part in a short time. The State Revenue Committee said also that measures are being taken to clarify and restore the final amount of damage caused to the state. -0-
