In 2019, the government of Armenia awarded customs privileges to 57 companies, which promised to make a total of 212 billion drams worth investments, Economy Minister Tigran Khachatryan told reporters on Tuesday.
YEREVAN, January 14. /ARKA/. In 2019, the government of Armenia awarded customs privileges to 57 companies, which promised to make a total of 212 billion drams worth investments, Economy Minister Tigran Khachatryan told reporters on Tuesday.
He said as a result 3,320 new jobs were to be created. According to Khachatryan, companies were awarded customs duty exemption in the amount of 14.8 billion drams, while some companies also awarded VAT payment deferments to the tune of 10.1 billion drams.
The minister said the bulk of privileges were awarded to small and medium-sized companies, which also receive assistance in other formats. In particular, with the assistance of the ministry some SMEs were able to take part in five exhibitions of food, shoes, jewelry, as well as in two other exhibitions in China.
According to him, the government also assisted 30 winemakers who were able to take part in nine specialized exhibitions.
The Minister said the emphasis was placed on promoting startups, in particular, in 2019, training seminars were held for 364 people, of which 81 applied later for state financial guarantees to start a business. ($1 - 479.36 drams). –0--
