YEREVAN, May 3. /ARKA/. The products of famous Italian company La Perla, which produces underwear, swimwear, robes, pajamas, are being made now in the Armenian town of Charentsavan under the brand "Made in Armenia", La Perla director in charge of production, Giulio Gambarini, said today.

"Six months ago we started with producing a pilot batch of underwear, and the result was more than satisfactory. Our company manufactures luxury lingerie and is one of the best-known brands, so we need qualified personnel, which we found in Armenia ", Gambarini told reporters.

According to him, today the factory in Charentsavan employs about 50 people, but over the next six months their number will increase to 120-150.
"In Armenia we produce about 50,000 units of product every six months, and this is a good indicator, since the work on our models is hard and time-consuming," he said.

Armenian economy minister Tigran Davtyan, who visited the factory, said providing a favorable environment for manufacturers, exporters and investors in parallel with the negotiation around the free trade agreement with the EU will significantly increase the volume of Armenian exports.

There are about 100 companies with Italian capital operating in Armenia now. Production of La Perla in Armenia is organized by Bratex branded textile manufacturing company, founded in June 2011. The average salary of employees is 80,000 drams. La Perla was founded in 1954. -0-
