Jewelers from Armenia, Russia, Turkey, USA, Belarus and Lebanon showcasing their products at Yerevan Show exhibition

Twenty-two jewelry companies from Armenia, Russia, Turkey, the USA, Belarus and Lebanon are showcasing their products at the VII jewelry exhibition Yerevan Show that will run until May 14 in the territory of the Meridian free economic zone.

YEREVAN, May 12. /ARKA/. Twenty-two jewelry companies from Armenia, Russia, Turkey, the USA, Belarus and Lebanon are showcasing their products at the VII jewelry exhibition Yerevan Show that will run until May 14 in the territory of the Meridian free economic zone.
Speaking at the opening ceremony Armenian minister of culture Armen Amiryan said it is a great honor for all Armenians to host this exhibition. He said according to research, jewelry business in Armenia arose in the 2nd century BC, when not only simple jewelry was made, but also masterpieces of art.
Gagik Gevorgyan, the head of the Association of Jewelers of Armenia (AJA), said during the opening ceremony that the exhibition allows guests from different countries to present their business interests. "Our task is to make Armenia one of the world's jewelry centers," Gevorgyan added.
As part of the event, there will also be an exhibition and sale of paintings by Armenian artists. On Friday evening the Fashion Week in Yerevan will open.
"I hope this will become a good tradition, and we will regularly hold fashion weeks twice a year," Gevorgyan said.
The main goal of the exhibition is to attract the attention of foreign buyers, which is instrumental in creation of new jobs in the industry.
High-ranking officials, heads of jewelry companies, as well as the famous Russian couturier Vyacheslav Zaitsev, took part in the opening ceremony of the exhibition, organized by Meridian free economic zone - a unique platform with a cluster infrastructure for the production of jewelry, watches and diamond processing. -0-
