Kazakh and Armenian air carriers r granted the right to perform mutual flights without restrictions

YEREVAN, April 16. /ARKA/. Air carriers of Kazakhstan and Armenia are given the right to perform mutual flights without restrictions, the Kazakh Ministry of Transport reported.
It says also that Kazakh motor carriers are exempted from road and environmental fees on the territory of Armenia.
During the official visit of the Kazakh president to Armenia on Monday the two countries agreed to amend the intergovernmental agreement on international road communication of November 6, 2006 and a memorandum of understanding between the aviation authorities of both countries.
In accordance with the memorandum, the air carriers of the two countries are granted the right to perform flights to authorized points on the territory of Armenia and Kazakhstan (Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, Aktau, Karaganda, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Pavlodar, Kokshetau, Taraz, Petropavlovsk, Semey, Turkestan, Aktobe) using the 3rd, 4th and 5th degrees of "freedom of the air" without restrictions on the number of frequencies, capacity and types of aircraft.
In addition, the Kazakh side granted permission to Armenian Airlines LLC to perform regular commercial flights from Yerevan to Astana with a stopover in Turkmen Ashgabat until the end of 2027.
The amendments provide for the creation of a permit system for road transportation of cargo to/from third countries, as well as exemption of Kazakh carriers from road and environmental payments for bilateral and transit cargo transportation (in the territory of Armenia the environmental fee is about $100 for each vehicle).
In 2023, import-export transportations by road between Kazakhstan and Armenia amounted to 6,936 tons, which is 21% more than in 2022 (5,748 tons). The main cargoes transported are finished foodstuffs, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, machinery, mechanisms and equipment.-0-
