Luding Group continues supply of Ararat cognac to Russia
YEREVAN, May 24. /ARKA/. Luding Group, one of the largest distributors of alcoholic drinks in Russia, told the Russian business daily 'Kommersant' that it continues supplies of cognac produced by the Yerevan Brandy Company (YBC) to Russia as usual.
It said that the distribution contract with French Pernod Ricard, the owner of the Ararat brand and the YBC is valid and that it did not receive any notifications about the suspension of cooperation.
Luding Group specified that Ararat’s distribution geography covers the whole of Russia, except for federal chains. Since the start of the contract in October 2021, more than 1.3 million liters of cognac have been sold, excluding the volume supplied directly by Pernod Ricard to the main chains. According to 'Kommersant’s' sources in the market, about 4 million liters of Ararat are supplied to the Russian Federation per year.
Last week, Armenian Economy Minister Vahan Kerobyan told that the Yerevan Brandy Company may stop exports of Ararat cognac to Russia. His announcement was preceded by a statement made by Pernod Ricard about ceasing exports of international brands to Russia. Later, a source at YBC said the company keeps on fulfilling its obligations to all its partners in all countries. -0-
