Lufthansa to launch Frankfurt-Yerevan-Frankfurt flights in August

The Armenia International Airports company, running the Zvartnots airport in the capital Yerevan and Shirak airport in the second-largest city of Gyumri, announced  the completion of negotiations with Lufthansa saying the German airline will start operating flights between Yerevan and Frankfurt from August 13, 2021.

YEREVAN, July 15, /ARKA/. The Armenia International Airports company, running the Zvartnots airport in the capital Yerevan and Shirak airport in the second-largest city of Gyumri, announced the completion of negotiations with Lufthansa saying the German airline will start operating flights between Yerevan and Frankfurt from August 13, 2021.

According to the company, the airline will operate three flights between Frankfurt (Germany) and Yerevan per week – from Frankfurt to Yerevan on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, and from Yerevan to Frankfurt on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Lufthansa is a part of the Lufthansa Group, which already has a strong presence in Armenia. Austrian Airlines has been operating flights from Vienna to Yerevan for the past 20 years, Brussels Airlines now offers 5 weekly flights from Brussels to Yerevan and Eurowings will soon operate direct flights from Cologne as of August 5th  2021.
