Armenia’s ministry of energy infrastructure and natural resources has awarded 26 permits this year for mineral prospecting and development of mines, including 17 permits to develop mines.

Ministry awards more than 20 permits for development of mines

YEREVAN, December 16. /ARKA/. Armenia’s ministry of energy infrastructure and natural resources has awarded 26 permits this year for mineral prospecting and development of mines, including 17 permits to develop mines.

According to Hovhannes Yeghiazaryan, head of Subsoil Use Department of the ministry, the permits were given for development of deposits of basalt, tuff and gravel, as well as mineral water.

Two companies - Geghi Gold and Garagulyans have been granted permission to develop gold-polymetallic deposits.

Nine companies were given prospecting permits for the purpose of starting mining in 2016. Another company received approval for geological research.-0-
