New diamond cutting plant opens in Armenia

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan participated today in the official opening of a diamond cutting plant called ADM Diamond, the government press service reported.

YEREVAN, December 2. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan participated today in the official opening of a diamond cutting plant called ADM Diamond, the government press service reported. It said the plant occupies 3,600 square meters of space in a renovated building, which able to hold 700 diamond cutters.
It said about 3.5 million US dollars were invested in the plant, which is expected to export $100 million worth products in 2020.
The prime minister was shown the diamond cutting process. He was quoted as saying that the government is ready to provide appropriate assistance to the sector.
According to the head of the company, the company applies the Indian experience, which allows to create jobs in remote communities, which have the employment problem. The company also has a workshop designed for people with disabilities. ADM Diamond was founded in 2017. -0-
