YEREVAN, July 14. /ARKA/. As many as 99 trucks carrying liquefied gas entered Armenia from Georgia on July 11 to 13, Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan announced in a Facebook post.

Earlier, opposition MP Garnik Danielyan pointed to the problem Armenian importers of liquefied gas from Russia faced at the Russian-Georgian border check post.

According to him, dozens of trucks had been prevented from entering Armenia at the Georgian checkpoint for several days. In such a situation, he said, the Armenian side should immediately find out the reasons for such behavior of Georgian customs.

"Truck drivers are sounding the alarm that the pressure in the cylinders is increasing, which creates a risk of leaks and explosions. Such periodic obstacles are a sign of the deterioration of Armenian-Georgian relations. This is also the result of inaction on the part of the responsible authorities. Due to incompetent management, the export sector is suffering serious damage. The economy is suffering as a result of the deterioration of relations with Georgia and the Russian Federation. There are also problems in the export of Armenian agricultural products, flowers and brandy through Georgian territory. Greenhouse farms are suffering enormous damage, forced to destroy large volumes of cut flowers," Danielyan said.

According to him, the price of liquefied gas has already risen sharply — from 120 to 180 drams per liter.

"Economic problems have deep political roots. In the absence of action by the responsible authorities, entrepreneurs often travel to Georgia themselves to try to solve the problem on the spot. The consequences of such inept policies will be devastating. This is also a matter of our state's prestige. Due to the short-sighted and undignified actions of the authorities, the citizens of the Republic of Armenia will once again suffer," Danielyan wrote. -0-
