NSS: food prices in September fell by 0.3% from August

In 2016 September food prices in Armenia decreased by 0.3% from August, the National Statistical Service (NSS) said.

YEREVAN, October 10. /ARKA/. In 2016 September food prices in Armenia decreased by 0.3% from August, the National Statistical Service (NSS) said.
The decline was prompted by a drop in the prices of vegetables and potato. According to NSS, when compared to 2015 September prices of vegetables and potato were down by 19%, and down 4.8% from August 2016. Dairy products prices fell by 4.3% from the year before and by 0.5% from the previous month. Prices of meat declined by 4.1% and 0.2% respectively.
As for fruits they were 2% up from the year before and 1% from August 2016. The average prices of eggs increased by 15.5% from 2015 September and 1% from 2016 August. Sugar prices in 2016 September were up 9.8% from the year ago and 4.6% from 2016 August.
Fish product prices in 2016 September were up 0.3% from the previous month, while prices of alcoholic beverages and cigarettes grew by 0.4%.
According to the National Statistical Service, consumer prices in 2016 September fell by 1.9% from September 2015, but they rose by 0.1% from 2016 August. The government’s projection of inflation for 2016 is 4% (± 1.5%).-0-
