Ozon prioritizes development in Armenia and intends to open distribution points and sorting center (EXCLUSIVE)

YEREVAN, July 7. /ARKA/. Ozon is planning to develop its business in Armenia and increase sales, Alexey Minayev, Deputy Managing Director of Internet Solutions at Russian e-commerce giant, told Arka news agency.

"The Armenian market is certainly interesting. We had our first experience outside Russia in 2021 entering Belarus, Kazakhstan and then Kyrgyzstan, and now we consider development in Armenia a priority. We see here understandable, very progressive people, who order goods on the Internet, who are ready to make their choice on the Internet, so we think that the market is promising," he said.

Minayev explained that buyers in Armenia can order through Ozon any product, which is available to citizens of Russia.

Minayev pointed out that the company plans to have its own points of delivery in Armenia this year already. The points will be agent-based and will operate under Ozon's brand and rules.

"Armenian companies can already sell their goods on Ozon. For now it's just a showcase, i.e. they can sell, get money, but the delivery is handled by the company that sells the goods. But in the future we plan to have our own sorting center for delivery of goods", he said.

Ozon is the leading multicategory marketplace and one of the largest Internet companies in Russia. The marketplace offers more than 196 million products in more than 20 categories: from books and clothes to food and health products.

Ozon is actively developing as an online platform - already more than 90% of the site's assortment is formed by its partners. Ozon is developing its business and building its logistics infrastructure in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia. -0-
