Price of possible deal between Ameriabank and BOGG is reasonable, expert says

YEREVAN, February 21. /ARKA/ Considering market trends and developments, as well as all related facts, the price of a possible deal between Ameriabank and Bank of Georgia Group (BOGG) is reasonable, Executive Director of Finarm Financial Market Participants Association Karen Zakaryan told Civilnet.
On Monday, BOGG announced a deal to buy Armenian Ameriabank for $303.6 million. Zakaryan emphasized that in the case of banks the price of the deal has certain peculiarities.
For example, in the case of Ameriabank, the price-to-capital ratio is about 0.7. "There is a very large English bank, which, unlike Ameriabank, is listed on the London Stock Exchange- Barclays- which today trades with a ratio of 0.33. Or Kazakh banks, which are listed on the London Stock Exchange, have roughly the same ratios. Taking all these facts into account, I think the price of the deal between Ameriabank and BOGG is reasonable," Zakaryan said.-0-
