YEREVAN, September 23. /ARKA/. A group of winegrowers from the province of Armavir staged a protest action in front of the Armenian government building on Thursday morning demanding that the government make the Noy winery owned by the leader of the Prosperous Armenia party Gagik Tsarukyan resume purchase of grape.

One of the protesters said that about 90% of winegrowers who were outside the government building sold their grapes for the last 20 years to Tsarukyan’s winery.

According to him, the winery refuses to buy their grape because of a storage problem. The protesters wanted the government to find a solution to the problem.

Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan, who came out of the building to listen to the protesters, told the protesters that the Noy winery used to buy about 20-25 thousand tons annually. Kerobyan said 10,000 tons of that volume had been already bought by other processing companies and the government was working to find buyers for the rest of 15,000 tons. --0-
