Radisson Blu opens hotel in Yerevan

The first Radisson Blu Hotel belonging to Carlson Rezidor Company was opened in Yerevan on Tuesday.
YEREVAN, July 13. /ARKA/. The first Radisson Blu Hotel belonging to Carlson Rezidor Company was opened in Yerevan on Tuesday.
The opening ceremony was attended by Serzh Sargsyan, Armenian president.
George Miu, general manager of Radisson Blu Hotel Yerevan, said that the hotel is peculiar for its special style and ideology ‘Yes I Can’.
In his words, the company has taken the hotel over from Golden Palace Company.
The hotel, he said, is located in the best part of the city. It is surrounded by green spaces and provides a nice view of Yerevan and Ararat Mount. All this makes the hotel remarkable.
Miu voiced satisfaction at Radisson’s new undertaking and expressed hope that the hotel will enhance awareness of the country and will attract new travelers here, who will come for business or for rest.
There are 135 jobs in the hotel.
The general manager of Radisson Blu Hotel Yerevan refrained from answering ARKA News Agency’s question about the investment amount.
The address of the hotel is Azatutyan 2/2. The hotel contains 142 rooms, of which two are intended for disabled people and 15 are luxury rooms. There are also restaurants, bars, spa center and the biggest in Yerevan indoor swimming pool.
Prices for one room in Radisson Blu Hotel Yerevan range between 71,000 drams ($149) and 1.7 million (about $3,600 for a presidential suite room per day).
Radisson Blu is one of the most prominent hotel brands in the world. It has about 300 hotels in 69 countries. --0----
