Regulator discovers salmonella in frozen chicken meat of Araks firm
YEREVAN, June 15. /ARKA/. The Armenian Food Safety Inspectorate has ordered a local poultry farm to suspend operation after a repeat examination of a sample of its product revealed pathogenic salmonella.
Before the suspension order, the Investigative Journalists NGO had submitted samples of several types of locally produced frozen poultry meat for laboratory examination. The examination revealed pathogenic salmonella in the samples of Araks frozen chicken meat.
The head of the Inspectorate ordered checks at Araks Poultry Farms CJSC and a sample of Araks Chicken Plate product was sent for re-examination, which again revealed pathogenic salmonella.
