Regulator suspends operation of second bakery in Yerevan

Armenia’s State Food Safety Service has ordered today a second bakery in the capital city Yerevan this week to stop operation after revealing a string of breaches.
YEREVAN, January 31. /ARKA/. Armenia’s State Food Safety Service has ordered today a second bakery in the capital city Yerevan this week to stop operation after revealing a string of breaches.
It said an inspection of the bakery located at 38, Pushkin Street in downtown Yerevan, owned by private entrepreneur Vardan Shahinyan, found violations of food hygiene requirements.
Particularly, the bakery did not take proper measures to eradicate insects; the employees did not undergo mandatory periodic medical examinations.
The inspection also showed that the bread was transported to shops by a car used for transportation of passengers and did not have a corresponding sanitary passport necessary for the transportation of food. The owner of the bakery was given time to eliminate the breaches. -0-
