YEREVAN, March 28. /ARKA/. Armenia's Food Safety Inspection Authority said it will conduct inspections at the Ararat brandy company to identify discrepancies in Ayrum pomegranate wine.

The inspection will be carried out following a letter from Belarus, which says that during the laboratory analysis of natural semi-sweet pomegranate low-alcohol wine Ayrum produced by Ararat brandy company synthetic dye azorubin (E122) was detected, which is an indicator of signs of possible falsification of this product.

On this basis, the import and sale of pomegranate wine Ayrum of this company in Belarus is temporarily restricted.

However, the letter does not specify in which batch the discrepancy was detected, whether other batches and other professional details were checked.

The Food Safety Inspection Authority will conduct supervisory activities at Ararat brandy company to verify the confirmation of non-compliance claimed by Belarus, and will also contact the Belarusian side to clarify some details of the restrictions." -0-
