Russia removes ban on imports of Armenian tomatoes and peppers

Russian agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor has removed today temporary ban on import of tomatoes and peppers from a number of companies operating in Armenian province of Armavir, saying characteristic signs of the Pepino mosaic virus were not found in these vegetables.

YEREVAN, February 5. /ARKA/. Russian agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor has removed today temporary ban on import of tomatoes and peppers from a number of companies operating in Armenian province of Armavir, saying characteristic signs of the Pepino mosaic virus were not found in these vegetables.
The ban was removed after Rosselkhoznadzor received information about the results of a quarantine phytosanitary monitoring of greenhouses producing tomatoes and peppers conducted by the Food Safety Inspection of the Republic of Armenia.
The import of tomatoes and peppers from the Armavir region of Armenia was banned from December 14, 2020 due to the detection of the Pepino mosaic virus in the products -0-
