YEREVAN, March 24. /ARKA/. South Caucasus Railways (SCR) CJSC CEO Viktor Rebets met Saturday the Company’s Youth Council members who represent all the inner structural units, the company’s press service reports. 

SCR chief highlighted the importance of implementing “Youth of SCR CJSC 2011-2015,” program, as well as developing young specialists’ potential, promoting them and improving their professional knowledge and skills.

“ There are 173 young specialists up to 30 years old out of 786 workers in the company. And 17 of them are reserved for senior position appointments. The number of young specialists in SCR quite increased: now young workers make up 18 % of the total number against the 14 % some time ago. This tendency demonstrates rejuvenation process amid the railroad personnel, and the youth’s incremental wish to speak for themselves,” Rebets said.

SCR CEO also spoke on issues related to encouraging young specialists and providing them with an appropriate salary. It is necessary to foster maximum involvement of youth in the labor processes, motivate young people towards professional knowledge deepening, improvement of professional activity results, and launch a new system of youth motivation directed to highly competitive environment formation, he added. 

Rebets reminded that SCR promotes the education of the company’s young specialists who wish to obtain higher education or improve their knowledge in the leading Armenian and Russian universities. 

Youth Council chief Vahe Davtyan, in turn, reported to the SCR CEO on the structure’s main programs and tasks.

“Currently, our challenge is to activate the dialog between Youth Council and the Company’s administration. SCR declared 2012 as a year of work with the personnel what will definitely deliver our youth policy implementation to the new level. Apparently, the youth is the main translator of the company’s values into the outer environment, that , in turn, ensures the rise of our competitiveness on the labor market,” Davtyan said. 

Speaking on the Council’s accomplishments, Davtyan highlighted Decree on a young specialist, Decree on advisory, organization of corporate football championship, “What? Where? When?” intellectual game, etc. 

The Council is also planning to implement a few programs, such as innovation projects contest, he added. At the meeting SCR CEO answered the questions of young employees, related to career promotion, opportunities to obtain higher education in Russian universities, perspectives on international railways communication development. 

CJSC “South-Caucasus Railway” is a 100% subsidiary of OJSC “Russian Railways” implementing concession management of CJSC “Armenian Railways” according to the Concession Agreement signed on February 13, 2008. Term of the concession is 30 years with the right of extension for another 10 years. -0-
