SCR develops cooperation with Iran in South railway construction

YEREVAN, July 2./ARKA/. CEO of South Caucasus Railway CJSC Viktor Rebets discussed the prospects for the  South railway construction as he visited Iran last week and met the chiefs of Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Transport Ministry.

YEREVAN, July 2./ARKA/. CEO of South Caucasus Railway CJSC Viktor Rebets discussed the prospects for the  South railway construction as he visited Iran last week and met the chiefs of Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Transport Ministry.

The sides also discussed the cargo transportation in this direction, and prospects for building a logistic center on the base of Yeraskh station.

The media sources reported about South Railway Armenia and South highway of Armenia projects valued at 3 billion dollars  in January 2013. At that period, SCR, Transport and Communications Ministry of Armenia and Rasia company signed a trilateral memorandum on mutual understanding in regional cooperation.

Dubai-based Rasia company functions in forming consortium for development of technical and economic aspects, projecting, financing of projects.

South Caucasus Railways, a 100-percent subsidiary of Russian Railways, runs Armenian Railway.
Armenian Railways was handed over to the South Caucasus Railways on February 13, 2008 for 30-year concession management with a right to prolong the management term for other 10 years.—0-
