South-Caucasian Railway (SCR) said Monday it had raised the efficiency of its freight cars and locomotives use throughout January-October 2012.

YEREVAN, November 19. /ARKA/. South-Caucasian Railway (SCR) said Monday it had raised the efficiency of its freight cars and locomotives use throughout January-October 2012.
According to the recent statistical data, a freight car turnover is accelerated by 0.5 days or 15.1% from a year earlier. In average one wagon was in operation for 3.3 days.
Average daily output of a wagon was 4408 ton-km net/wagon, which is 16.8% higher from the analogical period in 2011.
At the same time, in January-October 2012, the performance of locomotive park was improved. Average daily mileage of locomotive was 362.8 km, which is 5.8% higher from the analogical period a year earlier.
“The company managed to achieve such results due to the policy of quality increase of infrastructure and rolling stock on the basis of comprehensive measures of ensuring traffic safety,” according to the report.
CJSC “South-Caucasian Railway” is a 100% subsidiary of OJSC “Russian Railways” implementing concession management of CJSC “Armenian Railways” according to the Concession Agreement signed on February 13, 2008. Term of the concession is 30 years with the right of extension for another 10 years.—0--
