SCR resumes autumn commission inspection

YEREVAN, October 30. /ARKA/. South Caucasus Railway company said Tuesday it had discussed the other day the outcomes of the autumn commission examination and roads preparedness for winter.

The discussion was coordinated by SCR CEO Viktor Rebets.

At the meeting the heads of the departments, boards, manufacture companies and business units of the company made presentations.

Participants presented the issues reveled during the autumn inspection, as well as solutions to smooth operation of the tracks, power devices, automation, telemechanisms and the proper state of subgrade and structures.

During the inspection considerable work was carried out improve the track facilities, all infrastructure industry farms, industrial and public facilities of the road. 

Mr. Rebets personally controlled the implementation of the inspection in which the defects had been eliminated immediately.

The main purpose of the commission inspection was to determine the level of preparedness of the tracks to work in winter 2012-2013, to indicate the current shortcomings and remove them. 

In addition, the commission checked everything directly related to the safety of train operation and technology. Special attention was paid to issues of labor processes. An important result of the commission's work was an assessment of the heads’ organizational leadership, their personal participation in prevention activities.

In early November SCR starts inspection of locomotives and motor-car vehicles. The autumn inspection will be considered at the weekly operational meetings.

South Caucasus Railways, a 100-percent subsidiary of Russian Railways, runs Armenian Railway. 

Armenian Railways was handed over to the South Caucasus Railways on February 13, 2008 for 30-year concession management with a right to prolong the management term for other 10 years.E.O.-0-
