Scientific and Technical Council of the South Caucasus Railway (SCR) discussed Thursday the issues related to HR and social policy, the company reported to ARKA today.

YEREVAN, April 5./ARKA/. Scientific and Technical Council of the South Caucasus Railway (SCR) discussed Thursday the issues related to HR and social policy, the company reported to ARKA today.
"The development of human resources is one of the most important incentives for the progress of the company. We were able to identify ourselves in the society and today railroadmen are recognied. A system of training and professional development is set up,” SCR quoted CEO Viktor Rebets as saying at a meeting.
He payed special importance to the training system. He mentioned that currently 55 employees of SCR study at Rostov State University of Transport and State Engineering University of Armenia.At present, the company employs 772 individuals who have some academic degree, more than 1.1 thousand employees with an associate degree (specialized secondary education), more than 1.7 thousand employees who just have a high school diploma. At the same time, compared to 2009, the number of employees with academic degrees has increased by 5.5%, the ones with a high school diploma by 1.4%.
"We must create the conditions for the trained staff to fulfill their potential in our company," - said Victor Rebets.
Among the most promising areas of social development policy of SCR, apart from the development of human resources, the CEO singled out the implementation of an effective system of mentoring that would help to convey the experience of older colleagues to young railway workers, the introduction of the Code of Ethics, as well as the presentation of the railway uniform.
Victor Rebets also introduced the audience with the samples of the uniform developed by designers, and expressed confidence that it would help to raise the level of self-discipline of the employees.
Rebets also noted that in compliance with the law of the Republic of Armenia, railwaymen can have their own railway uniform.
Besides the top management and the heads of the divisions, the meeting was also attended by head of educational work of RSTU Galina Subbotina, Vice Rector for Academic work of SEUA Suren Abgalyan, deputy director of Gyumri State Technical College Feliks Torosyan.
South Caucasus Railways, a 100-percent subsidiary of Russian Railways, runs Armenian Railway.
Armenian Railways was handed over to the South Caucasus Railways on February 13, 2008 for 30-year concession management with a right to prolong the management term for other 10 years. -0-
