Some 312 million cash register receipts were printed in Armenia in the first 9 months of 2019, by 37.7% more than in the same time span of 2018, the head of the State Revenue Committee David Ananyan told reporters on Wednesday.

YEREVAN, October 17. / ARKA /. Some 312 million cash register receipts were printed in Armenia in the first 9 months of 2019, by 37.7% more than in the same time span of 2018, the head of the State Revenue Committee David Ananyan told reporters on Wednesday.
He said in terms of money that number translates into 1.3 trillion drams, by 236 billion drams or 21.1% more year-on-year. Ananyan recalled that prime minister Nikol Pashinyan pays great attention to this issue and periodically presents relevant information. He admitted that much remains to be done in this area. He said the latest example of Gyumri has shown that there are numerous problems
According to a Pashinyan Facebook post, on Independence Day on September 21 about 11,000 people traveled to Gyumri, which hosted the major Independence Day festivities, whereas the number of cash register receipts printed on that day was no different from the other days.
In attempt to cut the share of shadow economy, prime minister Pashinyan has been encouraging his country fellows to demand receipts at all trade outlets.
According to the State Revenue Committee, it is largely petrol and compressed natural gas stations that fail to print receipts. According to the Committee, the largest number of cash register receipts was printed in August- over 39.6 million, worth 180 billion drams. ($ 1 - 476.76 dram). -0-

"Our conclusion was that not only the local branch of the State Revenue Committee works poorly. We sacked the head of the Gyumri division, but there is no tradition in the second-largest Armenian town of printing cash register receipts by trade outlets, whereas its residents do not demand them," Ananyan said.
