YEREVAN, November 6. /ARKA/. Armenia’s State Food Safety Service has suspended the operation of a small company owned by private entrepreneur Armen Khostegyan that produces basturma, highly seasoned, air-dried beef.

The State Food Safety Service said an inspection of the company revealed a set of breaches of food hygiene rules and besides, there was no marking on finished products.

The entrepreneur failed also to submit documents verifying the safety of imported meat and other raw materials used in the production of basturma, while the production itself did not meet technological requirements, and no laboratory monitoring of finished products was conducted either.

The private entrepreneur was told to bring the production process in line with the technical regulations on hygiene requirements and safety conditions. -0-
