YEREVAN, June 15. /ARKA/. For three years now, in the village of Qaghtsrashen in the Ararat Region, Suzanne Barseghyan has been producing natural, delicious dried fruits and candies made from dried fruits using a special recipe.
Suzanne named her company Suebar, combining the first syllables of her first and last names. Suzanne grows and processes almost all the ingredients for her candies, which are made according to a special recipe for those who prefer healthy sweets, in her own garden. Candies made from dried apricots, dried apples, figs, plums, and peaches are sweetened with natural honey.
Suzanne also helps her fellow villagers: she purchases the remaining fruits needed to produce natural dried fruits from her home village of Qaghtsrashen.
Suebar is a participant in the Acba Federation and Impact Hub fellowship program, through which Suzanne received a year of business development training and consultations from mentors across various fields.
"The idea for the candies came about when my children decided to give up sugar. The only sweets in our house were our dried fruits. We tried making candies out of them, and it worked. That's how our business idea was born," said Suebar founder Suzanne Barseghyan.
She explained that the candies are made using several coatings: beetroot, coconut, sesame, walnuts, orange powder, pistachios, pumpkin seeds, and mint.
"There came a point in our business when we realized we lacked knowledge. We learned about the joint Acba Federation and Impact Hub program, participated in it, and over the course of a year, thanks to various mentors, we gained knowledge that we apply in our business. "I would also like to note that we won the fellowship program and received a grant, which we will use to develop our business," Barseghyan noted.
Barseghyan's immediate goal is to expand Suebar and open her own branded store, which will offer natural, fresh dried fruits and a wide selection of regularly updated dried fruit candies.

Acba Federation is the sole significant shareholder in Acba Bank, owning over 75% of the bank's shares. Through its participation in Acba Bank, Acba Federation promotes the development of agriculture, small and medium-sized businesses in rural areas, community development, the revitalization and development of the business environment in rural areas and communities, and the improvement of the well-being of every individual engaged in entrepreneurial activity in these areas.
