Two companies in Armenia are set to invest over 956 million drams in the clothing production

YEREVAN, August 27. /ARКА/. During a meeting held on Thursday, the Armenian government made the decision to exempt two companies engaged in the clothing industry, which are planning to invest in production, from customs duties on imports.
Alex Factory LLC aims to invest 337 million drams in acquiring imported raw materials for clothing production. The company has plans to increase its workforce to 52 by 2028, up from the current 42 employees. The estimated value of the customs duty exemption is 30 million drams.
Original Textile LLC intends to invest 589.5 million drams in the procurement of imported raw materials and an additional 30 million drams for the expansion and re-equipment of a new production facility. This company also plans to raise its number of employees to 40 by 2028, an increase from the current 24. The benefit from the customs duty exemption is estimated at 44.9 million drams.
According to Armstat, textile production in Armenia saw a 7.6% increase in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period last year, with a total volume of 2.7 billion drams. ($1 - 382.97 drams).-0-
