YEREVAN, April 21. /ARKA/. The Armenia-based Ameriabank and VISA Company have announced today the winners of a joint raffle, who have been awarded trips to Kiev, Ukraine, to the semifinal of the international song contest Eurovision-2017.
The raffle involved those customers of the bank who used their Visa cards (except for business cards) to make non-cash payments from February 23 to April 11. The smallest amount of a payment was the equivalent of 100 thousand Armenian drams.
Ellen Danielyan, the head of retail banking projects at Ameriabank Retail Operations Department, noted on Friday that the raffle was designed to increase the sale of the bank’s payment cards, as well as to stimulate non-cash payments and transactions.
"This time we placed the focus on that segment that makes transactions in small volumes; in particular, we wanted to attract the middle class. That was why the least amount of a non-cash transaction was set at 100 thousand drams," Danielyan said.
According to her, 2,780 cardholders of the bank took part in the raffle, of whom 77% (or 2,130 people) were holders of VISA Classic and VISA Electron cards. All the participants of the raffle were sent SMS messages indicating their individual numbers, which were to participate in the raffle.
The winners were the customers under the numbers 1240 and 1676. Two reserve numbers were also provided - 1477 and 1036, in case the winners refused to travel to Kiev. The package includes the cost of air tickets, accommodation in a hotel and tickets for the concert). The winners can receive their prizes at the head office of Ameriabank from April 21 to 26 inclusive.
