Georgian authorities have reopened today the Upper Lars border crossing on its border with Russia for trucks and other vehicles.

YEREVAN, July 6. /ARKA/. Georgian authorities have reopened today the Upper Lars border crossing on its border with Russia for trucks and other vehicles. The crossing will be open from 3 pm to 8 pm. It will be open also on July 7 from 3.30 pm to 8 pm, Armenian ministry of emergency situations reported.

The Upper Lars border crossing was blocked on June 23 by a massive mudslide caused by heavy rains, destroying about one kilometer-long section of the road which is actually the only conduit for Armenia to reach Russia across Georgian territory.

According to earlier reports, the complete rehabilitation of the road may be over in a couple of weeks.-0-
